The FTE clutch booster enables comfortable clutch forces for vehicles with high torque engines, for which it is not possible to use clutches with a large pitch diameter or two friction disks, and for which the pedal stroke should not be extended. It was developed as a modular system for pipe installation and is therefore easy to use in existing platforms. It works as an electrohydraulic proportional booster with boost factors of 1.3 to 2.5 and can therefore be used in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The "Peak torque limiter" and oscillation damper functions are also covered by the clutch booster. At the same time, the top dead center spring in the pedal assembly can be dispensed with. In the simplest of cases, electrical actuation can be performed via switches in the clutch pedal and a relay.
